2618 aluminum alloy is a high strength duralumin with the same pressure working performance and mach-inability as 2A12. It has good plasticity in annealed and hardened state. 2618 aluminum alloy can be quenched and aging treatment, general corrosion stability is the same as 2A12, heated to 150 ~ 250℃, the formation of inter-granular corrosion tendency is smaller than 2A12, spot welding weld-ability and 2A12, 2A16 is the same, argon arc welding is better than 2A12, but worse than 2A16.
2618 aluminum alloy coil has good comprehensive performance, such as high strength, a certain heat resistance, can be used for 150℃ working parts. Moreover, the form-ability is better in hot state, annealing state and new quenching state, and the effect of heat treatment is more significant. But the process requirements of heat treatment are more strict. Because of its poor corrosion resistance.
